The two exams we prepare for

Most of our students sit their exams at our own center, with the teachers who prepared them.

Math Kangaroo

We are an official center

We are a registered Math Kangaroo center, which means we handle registration, proctoring, and hosting ourselves. Families from around Cerritos can sit the exam here whether or not their child takes our classes.

  • The level bands map onto our four class levels one for one, so preparation lines up exactly.
  • The exam is held on a Thursday evening. Proctoring is staffed separately from Saturday classes.
  • Families in the community can sit the exam at our center even if their child is not enrolled.

AMC 8 (American Mathematics Competitions)

Competition-manager application in progress

The AMC 8 is what the Advanced level works toward all year. The exam runs as a window from January 21 to 27, and January 23 is already a class Saturday, so if our application to host is approved students sit it in the usual room with the teacher who prepared them.

  • A 25-question, 40-minute exam fits inside a normal Saturday afternoon.
  • Hosting it ourselves means every student we train has a seat, with no outside site to find.
  • Intermediate students see AMC 8 problems early, as a ramp toward the Advanced level.

Community welcome

Our Math Kangaroo center is open to everyone

Because we're a registered center, families from across the community can register and sit the Math Kangaroo exam here — even if their child isn't enrolled in our classes.

Train with us this year

Advanced students target the AMC 8, and every level prepares for Math Kangaroo. Starting in the fall leaves time to cover the ground before January.
